AquaLight Ltd Case Study
Founded in 2008, AquaLight Ltd is an Auckland based irrigation and garden lighting company that specialises in enhancing gardens and outdoor living spaces with irrigation systems and outdoor lighting, making yards and gardens more livable, beautiful and enjoyable. Its clients include landscapers, gardeners and homeowners across Auckland, up into the North, and as far south as the Coromandel.
Director Ben Armour tells the story
“A year after starting AquaLight, I needed a new van for the business, but struggled with financing. It seemed to be a bit ‘too hard basket’ for the bank, with the recession and all, and AquaLight was still a relatively new business. It was only after being put on to Driveline by my hairdresser that I was able to secure the vehicles I needed.”
Efficiency and ease
“The business was expanding quickly, and we really needed another vehicle to manage our clients proficiently. I had enough staff to utilise another van. Driveline presented me with several options, the main ones being a Mitsubishi L300, a Toyota and a Nissan. The Mitsubishi, which was recommended, provided a lot more bang for my buck.
“For the initial van, Driveline also provided options and pricing for custom work, such as sign writing and roof racks. They were really, really good at exploring all angles and getting things done.
“Laurie did the whole thing, from start to finish. It was really easy. All I had to do was make the final decision and go in to sign the loan documents. He took care of everything else. As a business owner in the peak season, I don’t have time for anything else. The service was fantastic.
“A year and a half or so later, I went back to Driveline when it came time to upgrade my vehicle. I was looking for a replacement for my 4wd vehicle. I wanted something with power. I do a lot of driving through Auckland, and I don’t like having to change gears. Driveline got me into a Holden ute on a four-year lease, and it’s been brilliant.”

They help to project the right image – one of professionalism – to our current and future clients. People see our clean, late model vehicles and they get the impression that we mean business.
