This week we got our hands on the NEW Jaguar F-Pace SUV. Just launched to some pretty positive reviews, what would we make of it?
Like most people who love cars, we’re not an easy bunch to impress and it’s fair to say we all wanted a turn driving this new addition to the luxury SUV market.
After a few test drives it was smiles all round from us. We had to admit it’s one gorgeous car with superior handling and enough unique features to feel pretty special. We agreed it “goes like a rocket” and there’s nothing else quite like it on the market.
Inspired by the F-Type, the new Jaguar F-Pace is a sports car at heart with the aerodynamic body design and precise handling to prove it. Choose from 3.0L V6 AWD supercharged petrol or 2.0L AWD turbocharged diesel. Depending on which model you choose, there’s plenty to brag about with fuel consumption as low as 5.3L/100Km, a top speed of 250Km/hr and 0-100Km in 5.5 seconds.
Unlike most sports cars the Jaguar F-Pace ticks the box for practicality too, there’s an excellent size boot, decent rear leg room, versatile storage and rear seats that fold completely flat. One clever well thought out detail is the reversible boot floor with carpet on one side and easy-clean rubber on the other so you can change it up depending on what you’re carrying.
Personalise Your Jaguar F-Pace
As you’d expect at this end of the market there’s a high attention to detail inside with refined styling and a choice of hand-picked leathers, premium materials and colours allowing you to create a personalised interior space of your own. Interior mood lighting in a choice of 10 colours lets you set the mood and the extra large windscreen adds to the feeling of luxury.
Of course there’s integrated smartphone technology with an 8 inch touchscreen with sat nav, climate and entertainment controls as standard (option to upgrade to 10.2 inch screen) and a top of the range 380W digital sound system.
There’s a vast selection of accessories and options to customise your Jaguar F-Pace including a choice of panoramic glass roofs, ipad holders and mirror options. If you really want that futuristic feel you could upgrade to the “Heads Up Display” which uses laser technology to project key info directly onto the windscreen!
Hats off to Jaguar, they’ve done it, successfully combined an SUV and a sports car to create a fantastic high performance luxury family SUV.
