Director Brent Paterson tells the story:

While Rural Directions is based in the Hawke’s Bay, Brent’s business takes him throughout the country, meaning the time spent in his vehicle needs to be both comfortable and cost effective.
“I spend a fair bit of time on the road. When I first contacted Driveline, I wanted a new vehicle. I’d moved off the farm into a town-based business, and I’d had enough of the Hilux. I went to Driveline with a pretty open book, not particularly focused on any one sort of vehicle. I rang Lance [Manins, founder and Managing Director of Driveline] and he presented me with a whole lot of options, complete with the discount rates he gets because of his bulk buying.
“I make a lot of regional trips, and spend a lot of time in the provinces. I used to do about 20-30,000 kilometers a year. Now I do 60,000 kilometers. I needed a bit more comfort. The first vehicle Driveline procured for me was a Holden Crewman ‘S’ about four years ago. The service is attractive. When I needed my next vehicle, I knew Driveline had people looking for good new and second-hand options.
“With my latest purchase, Driveline helped me secure a car no one else could. I wanted a new European car – the Audi A7 – and Lance was able to get me the press car that came to New Zealand, even though other local guys couldn’t.

“I keep going back to Driveline because of the relationship I now have with Lance and the team. I’m not a car person, really. I want to make it easy. I want to be able to ring someone and know everything will get sorted. That’s what Driveline does.
“I even decided to go through financing with Driveline because they made it so worthwhile. It was a toss up whether to do things that way or not, but the discount Driveline got us on the vehicle, as compared to what I would have got, far outweighed any finance costs.
