Suzuki starts rolling out new vehicles in 2017

By Lianca van Oudtshoorn | 16 February 2017 | Posted in News

It’s that time of the year when vehicle manufacturers are rolling out their latest vehicles.

And we at Driveline were live at Hampton Downs for the introduction to the 2017 Suzuki Ignis, S-Cross and Vitara.

Things are looking good for the Japanese car manufacturer. Last year they enjoyed strong sales, thanks largely to the continued popularity of the Swift and growing popularity of the Vitara.

One thing which is noticeable is the improving quality in vehicles. As the manufacturers continue to innovate, drivers continue to benefit. The boundaries of what’s now possible are incredible.

So here’s a brief overview of each vehicle and my verdict on them.

Suzuki Ignis

The Ignis has reemerged as a subcompact SUV. With an impressive fuel consumption, low running costs and all the latest safety features and technology, it’s a good vehicle for getting around town.

Stuart’s verdict: As an SUV, I thought it fell a little bit short of the mark in size. Everything else does the job you expect it too. A good vehicle for city driving, with 5 litres of petrol taking you more than 100km.

Suzuki Vitara

With off road capabilities and a modified body and interior, the Vitara has reinvented itself. The technology, safety and ride smoothness make it a great vehicle for driving in the city, on the motorways or off road.

Stuart’s verdict: It has the game changing benefits which a lot of people are looking for in a car. It’s a great multi terrain vehicle, loaded with safety features and comfy. I also like the body styling and fully integrated technology features.

Suzuki S-Cross

The S-Cross is packed with space and comfort. The 2017 model comes fully equipped with the latest Bluetooth technology, All Grip selection for different climate conditions and a new generation chassis platform.

Stuart’s verdict: This vehicle is the pick of the bunch. It’s the perfect size crossover vehicle, with lots of storage space for work items and family getaway items. The overall design makes it a smooth, quiet and pleasant ride.
