By Lance Manins | Driveline | 20 May 2020 | Posted in News

There are two new Transit’s added to the range this year – the Ford Transit Custom Sport Van, which has more power, great styling, interior treatment and features have all been upgraded. The Transit Custom Double Cab-in-Van model that can now carry up to six passengers while offering way more lading space than before.

In addition to fresh new body styles and powertrain upgrades, the Transit includes a full suite of Driver Assist Technologies as standard, building on its five-star ANCAP rating.

Transit Custom Sport is on special at the moment with the low lease price from only $668 per month, excluding GST. Valid until 30 June 2020

From the driver’s seat, Transit Custom Sport and DCiV also includes quick clear heated windscreen to complement the standard heated front seats on cold winter mornings. A 4.2-inch full colour instrument cluster is standard and joins MyKey – a programmable key that can be used to restrict vehicle settings such as speed, Driver Assist Technology and audio settings – for peace of mind.

Great capability, more momentum

Transit Custom’s advanced common-rail turbo-diesel engine meets Euro 6.2 emissions standards, while delivering a substantial 125kW of power, 30-per cent more than the prior model. Along with 390Nm of torque, the upgraded 2.0-litre EcoBlue powertrain further strengthens Transit Custom’s award-winning capabilities.

Transit Custom Sport Van: Practically athletic

Personality and practicality meet in the sportiest model yet: the new Transit Custom 320S Sport Van. The Sport adds even more performance with 136kW of power and 405Nm of torque – available exclusively as a six-speed automatic – in addition to distinctive exterior and equipment upgrades.

These all combine to deliver a stylish and powerful van for customers who want to stand out from the crowd, while still offering Transit Custom’s renowned practicality and highly-praised driving dynamics.

Making a statement with racing-inspired stripes and unique decals, the 320S Sport Van also adds 17-inch black machined alloy wheels and a body styling kit with unique front and rear bumpers plus side skirts. Body coloured mirrors and a gloss black grille up front are joined by Bi-Xenon HID headlights that also feature static bending and LED Daytime Running Lights for greater visibility and a unique light signature.

On board the Transit Custom 320S Sport, an upgraded interior includes a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat and partial leather seat trim to complement the textured leather steering wheel. Design details include a gloss black applique and detailing, plus chrome vent surrounds to add to the premium and sporty nature of the vehicle. The rear load area features new LED lighting for greater visibility, complementing the steel bulkhead, side wall trim board and load floor protection standard on all Transit Custom van models.

For the whole crew: Transit Custom Double Cab-in-Van

The new Transit Custom Double Cab-in-Van (DCiV) includes the upgraded powertrain and standard AEB with Pedestrian Detection, with up to six-passenger carrying capability.

The Transit Custom DCiV is standard with six seats accessed by dual side load doors – three at the front and three at the rear and an ample 4.4-cubic metres of load space. Its specification reflects the highly-equipped Van models, including 125kW/390Nm EcoBlue powertrain, comprehensive DAT suite with Adaptive Cruise Control, AEB with Pedestrian Detection, plus SYNC 3 with an 8.0-inch touchscreen.
