This week we have a quick look at the new 2021 Hyundai Staria Load, the long awaited replacement for the Hyundai I-Load which seems to have been around for an eternity – but then we did say that about the H100 as well.
Bold New Designs are a Real Stand Out . . .
Sporting a new sleek and spacey look, this new release had many of the Driveline lads at Hyundai HQ doing their best impersonation of the famous Jetson’s Spaceship when recently reviewed. However, putting our first impressions aside we got down to business and it soon became apparent that we had a top contender for a great new vehicle on our hands.
The Hyundai Staria is available in two variants; firstly the Hyundai Staria Load identified as the ‘Tradies workhorse’ which speaks for itself, and secondly the Hyundai Staria, which is supplied as a passenger vehicle with all the bells and whistles for the traditional consumer market.
For the purposes of todays’ review we are going to concentrate on the commercial applications of Hyundai Staria Load – as this will be our primary market for clients at Driveline Fleet (representing almost 28% of our total market).
Marginal Price Increases In reality With New Model . . .
The Hyundai Staria Load is priced at $59,990.00 (manual), and $62,990.00 (automatic). While it most certainly moves up in price we are assured that efficiencies with the new power plant, plus added length of life make up for this price increase, and we will be putting this to the test and reporting back in due course.
Putting aside the spaceship styling, what you see and what you get is an advanced suite of safety technology. This includes radar cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors and a 360 degree camera – and this is just for starters!
The new Hyundai Staria Load comes with a 2.2l Turbo Diesel 130Kw/430nm engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, in front wheel drive configuration.
Interior load space appears excellent, and you will get a full sheet of Gib in! Tow rating is set at 2500Kg braked, payload of 1070kg and with dual doors we can see some pretty handy interior fit outs being completed for our Tradie clients.
