Youth Encounter’s mission is to unleash the potential in young people and their families. We deliver exciting and engaging programmes using the risk taking activity of dirt bike riding. Through a pathway of therapy, counselling, mentoring, residential camps, community gatherings, work experience and job opportunities, our youth are empowered to live life wide open!
Our vision is to see young people and their families encounter their God-given potential. We support an atmosphere of acceptance, where real connections can be formed. As people are empowered in their true value, we believe they will encounter their true potential.
Youth Encounter works with at risk youth 11-24 years in age who are lacking purpose in life. They might be struggling socially or at school.
They might be marginalised, labelled with behavioural issues and more practical in nature. Research shows that these are the youth who are more likely to fail academically and take risky behaviours with destructive outcomes. We empower young people with life changing skills, positive role models and a pathway into employment that reaches beyond the restraints of the traditional education system.
We are based in the Bay of Plenty, operating the activity from our home base at Pongakawa. It is very central to Te Puke, Whakatane, Kawerau and Rotorua areas. We have a regional focus as well as a national focus within our different programmes.
I first heard about Driveline from Exult, an organisation that supports not for profit community organisations in achieving their vision.
We tow large enclosed trailers with all the equipment for our services as we are a mobile operation so we needed something that would last the distance towing and the Isuzu D-Max was a good choice.
I enjoyed working with Rob Price, Driveline’s business consultant in the Bay of Plenty. He was not forceful and I felt like he only wanted the best for our organisation. He managed all the information and streamlined the whole process to make it easy for us.
Did he understand our organisations needs? Absolutely. I think that was a real strength of Rob; he listened and did his research on us.
I would recommend Driveline as I felt they were honest and up front with costs long term and made it an easy process.
